November 14th, 2008 - NEW JERSEY RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION WELCOMES PAN GREGORIAN ENTERPRISES

NEW JERSEY RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION WELCOMES PAN GREGORIAN ENTERPRISES, LARGEST DINER RESTAURANT PURCHASING GROUP FOR GREEK-AMERICAN RESTAURANT OWNERS SPONSORSHIP WILL AID LEGISLATIVE BATTLES IN TRENTON The New Jersey Restaurant Association (NJRA) announced that Pan Gregorian Enterprises, Inc., a diner restaurant purchasing cooperative with about 850 members, has joined NJRA as a Super Allied Partner. Pan Gregorian Enterprises was founded in 1983 and over the years has become the leading entity for Greek-American restaurant owners. Deborah Dowdell, NJRA president, said this major addition “increases our ‘voice’ by about 75 percent” for the year and will help increase its leverage with state legislative leaders. “Pan Gregorian Enterprises will be an important ally to join our ongoing campaign to address Trenton’s burdensome taxation and regulation policies, including our joining the newly formed New Jersey Taxpayers’ Alliance and supporting the proposed sales tax holiday” said Dowdell. “We are fully supportive of the NJRA’s efforts to address issues surrounding the policies that are harmful and restrictive to the growth of small businesses in New Jersey,” said Jimmy Logothetis, first vice president of Pan Gregorian. Pan Gregorian Enterprises, headquartered in Kenilworth, N.J., combines the purchasing power of hundreds of independent operators and negotiates on their behalf with national brands, manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, and local service providers for better pricing, services and rebates. The NJRA represents owners and operators of full-service restaurants, catering facilities, taverns & pubs, brew pubs, diner restaurants, hotel restaurants, coffee shops, limited & quick service restaurants, institutional feeders, delis pizzerias, country clubs, culinary students and schools. Today, the New Jersey restaurant and hospitality industry includes 23,000 eating and drinking establishments generating $12 billion in annual sales and employing 311,000 people. Visit www.NJRA.org.
