NJ DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE NOW ON FACEBOOK (TRENTON) - The New Jersey Department of Agriculture has joined the popular networking website, Facebook at www.facebook.com/NJDeptofAgriculture. "The new Department of Agriculture page on Facebook is a useful, cost-effective way to reach the New Jersey agricultural community," said New Jersey Secretary of Agriculture Douglas H. Fisher. "Our Facebook page will be updated regularly to provide visitors with the latest information on events, programs and items of interest." To post comments on the Department of Agriculture's Facebook page, viewers must register on Facebook for free, and then log on with a user name and password. The Facebook page will complement the Department's websites: Main NJDA site www.nj.gov/agriculture; Jersey Fresh www.jerseyfresh.nj.gov ; Jersey Grown www.jerseygrown.nj.gov ; Jersey Seafood www.jerseyseafood.nj.gov ; Jersey Equine www.jerseyequine.nj.gov ; Jersey Agricultural Education www.jerseyageducation.nj.gov ; and, Farmland Preservation www.nj.gov/agriculture/sadc. "We look forward to interacting with members of the industry and consumers in this new and exciting way," said Secretary Fisher. "We hope that the Facebook page will encourage a dialogue that will be beneficial to both the Department and the public."
