July 2nd, 2012 - NJRA Unites Member Restaurants with the Drumthwacket Foundation's Summer Solstice Gala

(June 20, 2012) The New Jersey Restaurant Association (NJRA) has the ability to provide member restaurants with unique experiences from time to time. Recently, the NJRA partnered with the Drumthwacket Foundation to put together the 2012 Summer Solstice Gala, held at the Governor’s residence of Drumthwacket in Princeton, New Jersey. The NJRA coordinated the participation of member restaurants to serve their best dishes to event attendees. Guests were invited to tour the beautiful grounds and take a peek into the historic Drumthwacket mansion. A large tent filled the back yard, with chefs working through the heat to show off their culinary creations. Although temperatures reached a scorching level, the guests and chefs braved the weather together in order to support the Drumthwacket Foundation, which raises money to support field trips for school children to the grounds. Governor Christie and the First Lady posed for pictures and thanked each chef for their contributions and hard work on the Gala. Restaurants partaking in the event included Assembly Steakhouse (Englewood Cliffs), Bernards Inn (Bernardsville), Salt Gastropub (Stanhope), Elements (Princeton), Eno Terra (Kingston), Mediterra (Princeton), David Burke Fromagerie (Rumson), Kuzina by Sophia (Cherry Hill), The Manor (West Orange), Restaurant Serenade (Chatham), Roots Steakhouse (Morristown), The Ryland Inn (Whitehouse Station), Saddle River Inn (Saddle River) and Showboat (Atlantic City).
